Believe it or not, it is finally going to be released

After six years of waiting and a decision to cancel the PC version so that the developers could focus on finishing the game for the Xbox 360, news reached us today that Alan Wake is actually slightly ahead of schedule and has gone gold. Yes, that’s right; Alan Wake is finally going to be released.

How soon you will be able to get it depends upon where you are. The North American release date is May 18th, with the European release slated for May 14th. Those in Japan will have to wait till May 27th. As you can see, the Europeans are getting some love this time around with a release date that is ahead of the North American release.

With six years invested in the development of Alan Wake, we can only hope that after developer Remedy reportedly poured their heart and soul into the development of this title that it lives up to all of the hype and turns out to be a success for the studio. Let’s hope that the next title that the studio develops will not take six years to make it to market.
