More Bond in the future

Slated to become an annual franchise
James Bond is now slated to return each and every year, as Activision Blizzard announced that it will be committed to making 007 into an annual franchise. The announcement was a bit of a surprise, given the fact that many of the past Bond video games have not done all that well.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the pending release of the Quantum of Solace, which is the latest Bond film on which the video game is based. Activision secured the rights from MGM Interactive and EON Productions two years ago, and they have the rights locked up till 2014.
Quantum of Solace which is being developed for Activision by Trearch using the Call of Duty 4 engine has received mixed previews so far with the release of the final game slated for November 4th, which is just in time to go with the release of the latest Bond movie. Activision had better hope that they are able to erase some of the past and write a new chapter for Bond video games if they have any hope in making this annual franchise successful.
