M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 goes sub-€150
Asus' M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 has been listed in European markets and with
the lowest prices starting at €138 and considering the impressive spec, it sounds like a rather good deal.
The board features AMD's upcoming 890GX chipset and the new SB800
southbridge, which delivers six SATA 6 Gb/s ports. The board also
features USB 3.0 support, although a USB 2.0 version will also be
available and it should cost about €15 less, with prices starting just
over €120.
AMD's new chipset features DirectX 10.1 compliant Radeon HD 4290
graphics. We believe AMD used the RV710 core for the new IGB, but we
were unable to confirm this at press time. Of course, most consumers
will opt for discrete graphics and two PCIe x16 slots are available for
Crosfire action. The board also features two PCI slots, 1 PCIe x4 and 1
PCIe x1 slot. Firewire is also in the package, as well as HDMI and DVI outputs for the HD 4290.
Asus will probably launch the new 890GX boards at Cebit and they will probably be available within a few weeks.
